This is Torthorwald Castle in Dumfriesshire. We're a bit spoiled for castles and ruins around here, so handy for a photographer looking for a 365 Project subject. We've passed the sign to Torthorwald countless times and I've always been impressed with its Viking name. Sandra thinks it means "thunder hammer wood" but I can't confirm her Viking language credentials.

This was the first time we've been through it in the daylight so the first time we noticed the castle. I'm still enjoying experimenting with my fisheye lens and thought the castle lent itself well to such a composition.
